Exciting New Projects with RMIT Work Integrated Learning: ImproVet and SmartVet

I am thrilled to announce two groundbreaking projects in collaboration with RMIT Work Integrated Learning: ImproVet and SmartVet. These initiatives are set to revolutionise the veterinary industry by leveraging data and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in animal healthcare.

Introducing ImproVet

ImproVet aims to standardise the information related to medicine uptake in animal health. Inconsistent data and varied reporting standards have long been challenges in veterinary medicine, leading to inefficiencies and potential risks in treatment. ImproVet addresses these issues by creating a unified framework for recording and analysing medicine uptake, ensuring that vets can access accurate and reliable data. This standardisation not only enhances the quality of care but also facilitates better communication and coordination among veterinary professionals.

Introducing SmartVet

SmartVet is designed to assist veterinarians in identifying billing irregularities and making informed adjustments. Accurate billing is crucial for the financial health of veterinary practices, yet discrepancies often go unnoticed, leading to revenue losses and compliance issues. SmartVet employs advanced analytics to detect anomalies in billing practices, providing vets with actionable insights and recommendations for optimisation. By streamlining the billing process, SmartVet helps practices maximise their revenue and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Key statistics regarding Consultation Charge Amount include:

  • The average consultation charge amounts to approximately $549.34, serving as a benchmark for pricing strategies.

  • With a median of $256.35 significantly lower than the mean, the distribution is right-skewed, aligning with the histogram findings.

  • An unusual minimum charge of -$1,594.75 may signify refunds or corrections that warrant further investigation.

  • The maximum charge of $5,807.20 represents the highest-priced consultation, indicating premium services offered by the practice.
